  1. J & B Met Style

February 1, 2013 by the Sleep Walker

Before I get into my post I’d like to just make it known how proud and blown away by the Jetsetter’s J & B Met post yesterday! Such funny and insightful observations. She had me LOL-ing to myself. So I thought I’d make this post into a sort of continuation, talking about what the met is really about: FASHION.

  2. 2012 in Review

December 28, 2012 by the Sleep Walker

The year is almost over and as it is expected tradition I thought I’d recap this past year in pop culture. This post will contain my top favourite pop culture events from 2012, they may not be the biggest but they were big in my pop culture-loving view. I was tempted to make this a three-word post: Blue Ivy Carter. Her birth is after all my favourite event of 2012 but I decided against it.

  3. Holiday Movies That Gave The Best Travel Advice

December 27, 2012 by the Sleep Walker

    Hello!

I’m still not back from my holiday at this moment I’m either in bed getting some extra zzzs or a sunscreen ladden blob on the beach or buying a new pair of shoes… OK, the sleep and shoes bit is the most likely. This post borrows a page from our Pop Princess’s book as I am talking movies. These are the best travel tips from the movies.

  4. What I Want For Christmas

December 14, 2012 by the Sleep Walker

When I saw this Christmas prezzie questionnaire on one of my favourite crafts and lifestyle blogs I simply had to use it. So I filled it in sent one to my mother and plastered another on my sister’s fridge. It’s a wonderful guide for those who love you and want to spend a bit of money and time on you these coming holidays.

  5. Gaga hits South Africa

December 7, 2012 by the Sleep Walker

Today as write this I am a jealous Pop Princess. I had to watch from the sidelines as my Jo’burg friends tweeted, updated and shared their preparations to see Mother Monster Gaga, their experience at a packed Soccer City then the after effects of dancing all night. Then a couple days later I had to endure the same, only it was closer to home. I promise you I’m convinced I could hear the 64, 100 strong Monsters raise their claws in unison all the way from my bed.

  6. Naughty or Nice

December 5, 2012 by the Sleep Walker

Receiving naughty bedroom gifts from my closest girlfriends (and my mother) is one of my darkest secret nightmares. I suspect it’s also the reason I have successfully avoided the alter and the obligatory kitchen tea/ hen party, much to my mother’s vocal disdain.

  7. The Most Amazing Pop Culture Related Thing to Happen to me in a While

October 19, 2012 by the Sleep Walker

    EEk!

I know, that this (eek) is probably no way to start a blog post but I don’t know what else to say. A few week ago I watched from the front row — Twitter never fails at giving you that “in-the-thick-of-things” feeling — as the team responsible for bringing me my dear ELLE magazine announced that Sol0 would be their next cover. Solange on the cover of ELLE South Africa!

  8. Weird Celebrity Beauty Tricks

September 14, 2012 by the Sleep Walker

The world of showbiz and celebrity is (in) famous for its over-spending on seemingly unnecessary things, as depicted on the VH1 series “The Fabulous Life Of” as well as their many reality shows. For instance, after her twins were born, JLo/Jenny from the block bought 600-count Egyptian cotton sheets and then spent 600 000 (USD) on security. Celebrities are also known for doing strange things (think Michael Jackson’s oxygen thingy) to stay looking young and beautiful.

  9. Dreaming of Jo’burg

August 31, 2012 by the Sleep Walker

I’m usually OK with my being all the way in the Western Cape. It’s all I’ve known for the longest time; the environment is great and the people are wonderful. My whole family is also down here. I hardly ever have Johannesburg envy but this weekend has me wishing I was up in the bright city lights with all the cool people.
