On Sunday I was curled up on the carpet in my new living room watching my sister’s old 35cm television, the occasion? The 2012 South African Film and TV awards. Don’t pity me just yet, my aunt has this great two-seater sofa in her garage and she said I could have it if I can convince my uncle to haul it for me — just think, I’ll be watching the next SAFTAs on my very sofa! If Im lucky I’ll get is as soon as the SAMAs. Anyway, back to the evening I always look forward to.

Guess who is all moved in – okay, as moved as I can be? Right the first time! Your favourite Pop Princess. The cottage is not yet quite what I foresee it being when I finally bring in all the items I have up on my inspiration board, that gorgeous Grafton Everest couch I’m still begging the parents to loan me. But more than anything, I don’t think I’ll be fully moved in until my beautiful floor-to-ceiling mirror makes its way to my new home. It hit me when I was thinking about what to write this week, maybe I’ll start a favourite things series.

This has been a great year! Fashion and design saw the return of colour , the social networks influenced and fueled people’s uprisings, which means it was a great year in the news and my blogtrotting got a bit of a boost with a discovery of a few great bloggers.
